Why didn't I watch this film? I should've. I guess I was afraid that it would be a "My Best Friend's Wedding" remake. Only it's not. Well... not entirely.

Yes, it has the same plot. The best friend falls in love with the best friend who's getting married. But! Dempsey didn't make up stories to stop the wedding. He actually tried to be the best maid of honor that he could be. His initial plan is to steal the bride, but in the process, he realizes that Colin is actually the better man for his best friend, Monica... I mean, Hannah. :) So, it was kinda all up to her. And he didn't beg. I'm glad he didn't beg. And since they are best friends, there was no need for words at certain times.

To the good points...
Scotland is so green. Everything is green. The fields, the mountains, the road (?). Watching the film made me want to go there and meet a Scottish bloke. It could be romantic... it sounds romantic. You know, meeting a Gerry or a James.... That would be fun. The grandmother is funny. Her accent is so thick. And I believe she's speaking in their native tongue. I'm sure my sister would love the Scottish bit. All the traditions, the herd of animals, and the Kilts... and the games! (Oh, the car. Poor car. I wanna wear those costumes, too.)

Colin is the perfect guy (as opposed to Kimmy who's all flawed). He can dunk, can sing, can play the pipes, is well-off, strong, good at hunting, a romantic and a gentleman. He's smart, too. I guess it would've helped if he was at least a bit good looking.

Dempsey is, as always, dreamy. I'd love to be his best friend. I like this movie because you can actually see the friendship and how they've been friends for so many years. While waiting in line they play games, when they order cake he always gets the chocolate and she always gets the lemon then they share, they tell the truth about certain things that others usually lie about. Oh, and how they met is funny. He wears a ton of make-up in his face in some parts of this film.

Monaghan... I like her here. But I don't like her much. I watched her in Heartbreak Kid, there's just something weird about her face. She kinda looks like Michael Jackson, don't you think? But she pulls off the girl-next-door role very well.

I love the camera shots... the spinning effect... shots in between candles or doors. Not your usual. The sights were wonderful. Dempsey was right, when he saw in the script that there was gonna be a location set, he signed the contract immediately. Because it was so beautiful. From New York (a.k.a. London) to Scotland. Isn't that wonderful?

If you wanna see Dempsey in a kilt, go watch this.

I'm glad I watched this in a theater which sells tickets at 90 pesos. Because this movie isn't worth watching.

The beginning was dragging. Well... Maybe the director wanted the movie to feel boring because that's what their life had become when they decided to retire after the second adventure.

This installment wasn't as funny as the first two. I enjoyed watching Brendan scream at the site of Imhotep. But in this movie, he wasn't funny. Okay, maybe there was one time... when he told his son "I killed Mummies. Twice."

Brendan's son in the movie, Luke Ford, looks like Leonardo Di Caprio. His love story with Lin is overrated. I mean, they fell in love that quick? The movie was filled with love stories... Rick and Evie's, Alex and Lin's, Zi Yuan and the General's. Too much love in one movie. Luke doesn't seem like Brendan's son. As a brother maybe, but not as a son.

Maria Bello, Rachel Weisz 's replacement, didn't have chemistry with Brendan. She was different and played the role differently. But she's not Evie. I miss the original Evie. Too bad she didn't like the script. (I don't like it either.)

The only thing I liked about the film were the action scenes between Michelle Yeoh and Jet Li. Plus the war between the undead. It was funny when they were showered with arrows (ala-300), one undead's head fell off. The other picked it up and tried to reattach it. At least Jonathan was still consistent. He was the only actor whose lines and actions were funny. And he still hates mummies.

Oh, and what's with the Abominable Snowman?!

At first I was uncertain if I was gonna watch it. And the reason is, I couldn't think of anyone to watch it with. Kit is not exactly a fan of Filipino Romantic Comedies. Baduy daw.

After I saw the banner posted at SM North, I mentioned it to my dad. Turns out, he wants to watch it, too. Apparently, he likes John Lloyd. So my dad and I went on a John Lloyd date. Hahaha. On the way to the theater, we talked about him. My dad thinks that John Lloyd could be the next Aga Muhlach. Like Aga, JL (i don't wanna call him Lloydy) can make his leading ladies look good (so my dad says).

To talk about the movie...
Over-all, it was good. Funny, mature, nakakakilig.

JL became more appealing by the minute. And Sarah seemed mature. I know she sings well, dances well, but I haven't really seen her act.

This movie proves my dad's point: JL can make his leading ladies look good. I was worried about the age gap, but they pulled it off. They actually had chemistry. And the comedic timing is perfect! Ang lalagkit pa ng tinginan nila. And John Lloyd's smile was just... *sighs*

Acting-wise, galing talaga ni JL. Si Sarah naman talented at sobrang nakakatawa. Yung ibang characters, naguusap lang sa mata. Halos lahat sila mata lang ginagamit magcommunicate. Supporting actors sa work place were super funny. Joross Gamboa, Gio Alvarez and Matet, nakakatawa.

Cinematography-wise, galing din. Puro head shots lang, halos.

Story-wise, light plot. The movie didn't focus much on the love part. Magaan lang yun meeting nila, pagkakaintindihan, at pagkakasakitan. Hindi heavy drama na hahagulgol ka kasi sobrang sakit. Tama lang. Ouch lang. Ganon. Pero I believe the story focused more on JL's character rather than the love story.

I know it's a John Lloyd-Sarah tandem. And I know that Filipino films tend to be baduy. But I assure you, it's not baduy. Super fun. Tatawa ka, promise!

Penelope... How can I even begin?

Okay... I believe this is the second movie I was aware of watching James McAvoy. The first one was Atonement. I mean, I know who he is because my sister has been telling me about him but I haven't brought myself to watch a movie with him in it until Atonement. First time I ever saw him was in Wimbledon. He played the horny, irritating biker of a brother of Paul Bettany's character. You know, the boy who bet against his brother in every game. The boy who used his relationship with his brother to screw with the girl in the betting shop. Hahaha. Sorry. But yeah, that was him. So... To see his performance in Penelope, I was in love. I was blown-away. I'm not sure if the character he portrayed helped at all, but I believe it was his eyes... and his smile... and his American accent that I didn't even notice. Hahaha. All the while I thought he had an English accent. Or maybe I didn't really care. Because it was him. Him! McAvoy! Hahaha. (This should be a blog about McAvoy, you think?)

Okay... About the film, I have to say, hands down... This movie has the sweetest ending! It was sweet, honest and passionate. The storyline was unique. I hear the book was even better. I have to bring myself to read it, again.

Christina Ricci was perfect for the role. I got so used to her nose that when she lost it, I was confused. A part of her face was missing. Hahaha. Reese Witherspoon was comic. She produced this movie, too. I love the Bee Costume on her. James was, of course, perfect. Sweet and sincere. (What if they do a remake of Princess Bride? I'd love to see him play Westley. But no! I love Princess Bride as it is. I'm rambling. I apologize.) Simon Woods was Mr. Bingley in Pride and Prejudice. I wasn't able to recall what movie I saw him in until last night, when I watched this again with my sister. His character was funny. And how he was trying his best to smile while proposing to Penelope and failed, it was hilarious.

The only movie that gave me (and my sister) the need to rewatch the ending bit. Maybe because it was sweet but my sister thinks it was because of the kissing bit. McAvoy just kissed so passionately that it was moving. Moving enough to watch again.

~ - ~

From IMDb: "A modern romantic tale about a young aristocratic heiress born under a curse that can only be broken when she finds true love with 'one who will love her faithfully.' "

Kinda like Sleeping Beauty, with a twist.

Okay... I watched this because... One, I love Jose Javier Reyes. I love his movies. They're always real and true (save for My Monster Mom, I'm not so sure about that. Sorry.) Two, it's Aga Muhlach. Who wouldn't want to watch an Aga Muhlach film? Third, I wanted to see if Anne and Aga were able to pull it off. And they did!

So about the actors... I love it. They have chemistry. Aga doesn't look like his age at all. I love the expression on his face when Anne told him to shut up. He looked like a puppy who was scolded. He looks younger here. Compared to A Love Story. He almost looks like he's thirty! But I'm not sure how old he is here. Anne's character was toned down, mature. Glad she's not much of a party girl or a brat here. At least di ko naramdaman yun. They were sweet and pakipot. Haha.

About the film... Ang ganda ng Boracay. Love the sceneries, shots and the feel of the movie. Galing the pacing kahit kinda predictable yung timeline. I like the idea na the film started in the middle of the problem. Then nagflashback ng one year tapos nagforward ng two years.

The story reminded me of Bukas Na Lang Kita Mamahalin (another Reyes film). Yung two people going about like they're a couple pero there's no actual commitment. And since parehas na nasaktan, they both tried to avoid the unavoidable.. to fall in love. Pero syempre... sino ba namang makakaresist ng charms ni Aga and beauty ni Anne? I cried when they parted. When Aga said... "The next time I see you, I swear... I'll never leave you." She answers "I'll never let you leave." *sighs* It was mature of them kasi to part ways for a while. Kasi Aga's job and Anne's dad's business were opponents, and since Anne has a strong relationship with her dad, it was best to cool things off. Pero two years is a long time ah. Posible ba yun? Oh, well... Movies eh.

Pero I love it talaga. And totoo naman yung sinasabi ni Aga about the environment. Eye opener din. You should watch it. Ibaba na ang pride at panoorin. Pelikulang Pilipino ata ito.^_^

If you like Steve, you'll like this. Kinda weird to see him and Hathaway kissing. He is 20 years her senior! Eww!

This was a remake. I wonder how the other movie did.

I was watching this movie and was totally amazed because I couldn't hear McAvoy's accent. Well, after seeing him in Last King of Scotland then watching him as an American, I was really amazed. Hahaha.

I'm McAvoy a fan, you see. I watched this 'cause of him. He's good at getting beaten up. Hahaha. No, he's really good.

The movie was based on a graphic novel. They're actually super villains, not assassins. Well, kinda like assassins because they kill super heroes.

I love the action scenes. The car scenes. The destroying of buildings and destroying of car scenes. I love the rat idea...

Who here doesn't think that Angelina's movies that made her look hot were all movies with guns? She's the only woman who can look hot with a gun. Two guns pa!

McAvoy was really good. He buffed up for this film but it's kinda weird to have a buffed bod hidden under an accountant's suit. And I believe this is gonna be his breakthrough. About time!

Story wise... I wasn't too happy about it. I mean, I pity Wesley (McAvoy). He's so bored of his job, his girl was cheating on him with his best friend, and his boss was a biatch. Then he gets abducted, been told that his father just died, accepted and adapted to the identity that this man was actually his father. After killing the man whom he thought was his father's killer, he finds out that it was actually his real father. He again adapts to his new identity. It sucks. But it was cool how he killed all the other assassins after the bomb blew. I loved that scene!

"Kill one and save a thousand."

I fell in love with James McAvoy after watching him in Penelope. So I was taken aback after watching him here.

This is a story about a Ugandan President Idi Amin. During his regime from 1971 to 1979... 300,000 Ugandans were killed. The movie was based on a book inspired by Idi's story.

He was portrayed by Forest Whitaker, who did an excellent job. I don't watch Forest much. One of the movies I remember with him in was Vantage Point. He was okay there. But I think he mostly plays soft roles. So seeing him here, and looking so threatening, is great. He deserves the award.

James McAvoy played a fictional character, Dr. Nicholas Garrigan. He became the personal doctor of Idi all because he was Scottish. He was wonderful. Why didn't he win an award? He was a womanizer and also got beaten up so badly. From a careless, fun-loving boy to an angry, revenge-filled man.

I normally don't like gory films. But since this had McAvoy in it, I watched it.

The cinematography was documentary-ish. Africa looked more like a civilized city rather than a poor continent as what the news tell us. The movie tells us about power and what it does to you. How it drives you to do things you never dared to do. Or drives you to become a person you hate.

Rufus is my ultimate villain. And probably my all-time favorite Englishman.

This is better than "10 Things...". But I still love the modern-movie. It's just that, this version is so funny and the Shrew is like too shrew-ish. She's evil and scary and cute. Didn't recognize her as the ghost character in Harry Potter.

Petruchio and Kate are perfect for each other. She has met her match! He tames her and makes her smile. Which is uber sweet. *sighs*

Rufus is funny. He was wearing boots with heels pala. Didn't realize that until they were already in their honeymoon, when he told Kate that her bags were left at the airport. Hahaha. Love the make up and the nails. My sister hates him. But I love him to death. He's so good of an actor.

Been watching lots of movies with accents. Starting to understand what they say even if they speak really fast. Just like english. Hahaha. Loving European actors now. Even Aussies. Especially Aussies. And Welsh, and Scottish, and Irish. Hahaha. Europeans nga eh.

You have to watch this. It's really good.

Still crushing on Edmund, and now, Caspian. But I think he's rather stupid. The character, I mean. At least in the beginning. Hahaha.

Oh, yes! Finally it is out in theaters. Been waiting to see this flick since last year. Was supposed to see this with Paola but she couldn't come, so...

It was great! I love it. Well... Maybe because I'm a fan of the series and I know how everything went down and up.

Lots of comedy. And things going on with all of the girls.

I saw the Daily 10 when I got home and there was an issue raised as to why Aidan wasn't in the picture. It was because he wasn't needed anymore and that he was married. Also because of the fact that they all had significant others. Putting Aidan in the picture would just complicate things. At least he was mentioned in the film, with a whole chapter in Carrie's book.

I love how it ended. It ended with all the girls, sitting on the table celebrating Samantha's 50th birthday, while sipping Cosmopolitan. Glad it didn't end with the wedding as the last scene. There were a few clichéd moments. As expected since it's a Hollywood film. I was actually worried that the movie would be too cliché a predictable that I would hate it. But no, it was perfect. And sweet.

It is a movie about love. About different degrees of love: Carrie about her love for Big and the wedding, Miranda about love for Steve and the family, Charlotte about love for having children, and Samantha about her love for herself, about finding oneself and staying true to that. It's also a movie about fear and overcoming it. About forgiveness and regaining of trust. Forgetting the logics and going with your feelings.

They all found their happiness in the movie. There were few good laughs, a few teary-eyed or heart-wrenching moments. In the end... It made me wish I had my own set of girlfriends to talk to and share wonderful experiences with.

It feels like 'Transformers' all over again, save there was no drama in this film. It the The effects were so totally cool. Love the costume! Definitely the type of movie you'd want to watch for the second time.

To be honest, I didn't like the idea of Downey playing Stark. I watched the cartoons as a kid, but I don't remember the story. My cousin, Ailene, told me that Downey was perfect for the role. I believe she's right.

It was a great movie! It was funny, witty and thrilling.

Too bad I missed the last part. The scene after the credits. My brothers were rushing to get out of the theater, so we weren't able to see it. But it's cool. I just have to take note that every Marvel movie I see, I must stay until the credits are done.

It's a must-see film. You're gonna love it.

I give it five stars!

I didn't get to watch it in the movies. I thought it was like your regular horror/suspense/thriller wherein the killer (the Zodiac in this case) would be slashing people to shreds and there would be blood everywhere. I thought it was the type of film where the main character would be haunted by the killer and he would run and scream for his life.

I was wrong. It wasn't like that at all.

"Zodiac" is about the true to life serial killer in the Bay Area during the late 60's. The killer Zodiac sent letters to the press, claiming he killed a number of people. He would describe in detail the murders he did and threatened to kill the "little darlings" one by one as they jumped out of a school bus.

So, the movie is not entirely about the life of the killer and how he plots his killings. But about the lives of the people who were affected by his misdoings. Like the cops, the investigators, reporters, forensic people, and the surviving victims. Their lives changed because of this man who kills just because it's his birthday or because he's angry at the world. He doesn't have a pattern and he didn't leave a single clue for the cops to trace.

He left everyone hanging until people forgot about this killer whom haunted their lives for more than 20 years.

You have to watch it. The director did a detailed reenactment of the murders and also of the characters the actors portrayed.

I love it! I have only read the first half of the book (and I plan to finish it soon), so I have an introductory of the story.

Gerry's perfect. Perfect husband, Perfecyt friend. By saying Gerry, I mean the character Gerry that Gerry (Butler) portrayed. Hahahaha. Am I confusing? Well... Gerry (Butler), too, is perfect. Great actor, and really kind.

I don't really like Hilary Swank. And this is the first movie I ever watched with her in it. Well.. it's because of Gerry (Butler) and the book. The first five pages just made me cry buckets.

As for the movie, I like it the way it is. I love it, in fact, it is officially my new How-to-Lose-a-Guy-in-10-Days favorite.

I could actually select Animation as the Genre but... it's more of a Romantic Comedy.

It's nice. I enjoyed it. The animation reminds me of Ariel, Sleeping Beauty, Snow White and Cinderella combined. Well.. duh! It's Disney!

Amy Adams (Gizelle) is better in terms of acting in this movie. I've watched her in other films and tv series. And she can sing pala. Haha. The songs here are funny. And the way she called the animals and the animals that came were just too much. Parang Broadway-like quality yung pagkakanta nila. A little exaggerated yung facial expressions ng Andalasia characters.

Dempsey still has perfect hair in this movie. He's the perfect hair guy. And I don't know how he could pull off the miserable facial expression. He's also like that in Grey's Anatomy, when he was so stressed about Meredith. He is too old for the Princess. It didn't even look like he was only 8 years her senior. She looked so young. Teenager like young, when she's actually 33. Grabe!

I forgot Dempsey was in "Sweet Home Alabama." I loved him there. He was kind, and loving. Well... He's still kind and loving as McDreamy and Robert. Pero parehas malungkot ang mukha. Hehe.

Marsden's animated form looks just like him. His nostrils even get bigger when he sings as the cartoon. Hahaha. Pero astig talaga boses niya.

Sayang hindi kumanta si Idina. =(

Sarandon was scary.

Over-all... It's a nice movie. Funny. Witty. And the love lesson makes sense. I mean, you have to have romance in your life, every once in a while. You have to at least know the other person's favorite color before you get married. And not just marry someone after a day of falling into their arms after falling from a tree. Marsden's character was kinda dumb, does that mean Idina's character was dumb , too? They seem to get along very well... after her foot fit perfectly in Gizelle's plastic, purple shoe. Labo! Hahaha. And why was she barefoot?! Pero okay pa rin.

Watch it!

Oh my gosh! Oh my gosh!

Michael got out of SONA! Grabe!

How? Then you just have to wait and see. I'm not gonna spoil that. Hahaha.

But what is Lechero gonna do now that Michael's out? More importantly, what is Whistler gonna do about Michael leaving SONA?

And then I go to FOX's site to see what the title of this episode is. Then... there it was. A shocking revelation.... The next episode won't be aired until January 14! January 14! That's like TWO FREAKING MONTHS from now! So irritating! But at the same time, SUPER EXCITING! Because now... where is Michael gonna go?

*sighs* Two months. I'm gonna have to wait two months. Shucks! Oh, well... The next episode better be good. Watch it! You're gonna love it! :)

P.S. They say that the third season of Prison Break is out on Pirated DVD. The COMPLETE third season daw. How is that even possible when it's not shown in the States yet? And with the writers on strike, how did they manage to finish the whole season? Could they have finished it in the number of months they were on hiatus? That's not possible either. Because Sarah Callies (a.k.a. Sara Tancredi) got booted out before the fourth episode was aired. In this episode, they reveal that she is indeed dead. I need to get my hands on that DVD. I give it 5 stars!

It's super funny. I had no idea what the movie was all about before I watched it.

Ben Stiller (Eddie) plays these roles that make him look stupid or a loser. And he's super funny here. He just got married after 6 weeks of dating Lila. They've never had sex and didn't really have time to get to know each other since they kept on kissing whenever they're together. He married her because she was gonna go to Germany for business. So they went on their honeymoon, and BOOM! She's a totally different person, having deep dark secrets. Then while on their honeymoon, Eddie meets another woman. Someone who's different, smart, one he could talk with, and shares the same interests as he does.

The comedic timing is perfect. The twists would make you laugh hard. Opens your eyes to the consequences of marrying when you're not ready yet and when you just jumped into it without thinking it through. The movie is basically about marriage in all forms. If you need to unwind, you should see this.

I just finished watching the first episode of the third season of Prison Break. and all i could say in the end was "s***!"

It still made my heart race. Still made me care about Michael and feel for his humane side. He looks so pitiful discovering how it is inside Sona a.k.a. Panama Prison.

*SPOILER WARNING!!!!*

If you don't already know, the US government or someone who's powerful enough, wants Michael to break out of SONA and bring someone along. Someone probably of great importance. And it just sucks because Michael doesn't want to go through with it anymore. He just wants a normal, happy, peaceful and without-violence-whatsoever kind of life. But then of course, their loved ones are used as bait to be able to get Michael to do what they want.

Looking forward to a really violent, gross-out and gruesome new season. I just love looking at Michael's pitiful expression. At least there's one humane person.

Glad it's Michael.^_^

yes, i watched it. and yes, with my boyfriend. kawawa naman siya.
but he did say that the movie was okay. request lang niya to not make him watch corny tagalog movies.
tsaka at least daw Aga Mulach, at hindi Jericho Rosales.

haha. okay, to my review...
...Story -- quite interesting. old plot but with a different twist. definitely about forgiveness, trust and how love can be as deep as the rabbit hole.

the movie was dragging at first. kasi they're building up the story. but once the real story comes out, it starts to get interesting. and confusing. mapapaisip ka, then okay na. i enjoyed the comedy. and cried a little in the hurtful moments. i expected more, pero okay na rin. at least may twist na rin.

the movie teaches you a lesson in love and marriage.

"Ang babae, parang bulaklak yan... 'Wag mong pipitasin kung sisirain mo lang. Dahil you'll never find another flower like her."

p.s.
(could be a SPOILER ALERT! below)

i like the game Angelica's character loves to play...
ask a question and it can only be answered by another question. the first person who answers a non-question, loses. the loser gets to do whatever the winner says.
i like it because most of us are bothered with a lot of questions that we want to put across. and when we ask, we always relay to the other our thoughts and feelings, especially if you're in an argument. one of you will break and answer the question directly. at the same time, by asking, the other person would know how you really feel and what you want to know.

i can say that it's BETTER than 300 because i want to watch it again! as in! unlike 300, after watching it, i wanted to wait a while before watching it again. but with this movie, NO! kinukulit ko pamilya ko manood, para may kasama ako manood ulit. haha.
